Two vitally important independent websites in Sarawak (Malaysian Borneo) have come under cyber attack, with less than a week before state-wide elections. The websites www.sarawakreport.org and www.radiofreesarawak.org have both be impossible to access over the last few days.
At the time of posting, the Sarawak report site was available, while the Radio Free Sarawak site was not accessible. Specific information about who is hacking these sites is not available. These sites provide a vital critical voice calling out the injustices perpetrated by the chief minister of Sarawak, Abdul Taib Mahmud, and others who violate the rights of the indigenous people of the region.
You can access the Sarawak Report at: http://www1.sarawakreport.org/, on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/sarawakreport, or on twitter at http://www.twitter.com/sarawak_report.
You can access Radio Free Sarawak on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/radiofreesarawak?sk=wall, or on twitter at http://www.twitter.com/radiosarawak.
