Please join photographer Sofia Yu and Borneo Project director Jettie Word on Thursday, September 15th, for an evening of words and images from Borneo.

Photographer Sofia Yu spent two months in the rainforest of Sarawak, chronicling the day to day life of Penan people as they face the challenges of clear-cut logging, palm oil plantation expansion, and the destruction of their natural environment. She will be showing her powerful images, and selling prints to benefit the Borneo Project.

Jettie Word, the Borneo Project’s director, recently returned from Borneo with tales from her trips ‘up river’ to visit the project’s indigenous language preschools and meet with many of Sarawak and Sabah’s indigenous leaders.

Please join us at the home of Geoffrey Biddle and Jane Gottesman
