Timber giant Samling is logging some of the last intact forests in Sarawak against the wishes of local Indigenous communities. The #StopTheChop campaign is calling on Samling to stop logging without consent. It also calls and calling on the MTCC and PEFC — the national and international timber certification labels — to enforce their own standards.
In response to this campaign, Samling has targeted our local partner SAVE Rivers in strategic litigation against public participation. We are calling on Samling to #StopTheSLAPP and drop the case.
