KOTA BARU, Malaysia -- Malaysia is being blamed by many European governments and conservationists for its drive to increase its oil-palm plantations at the expense of its rain forests and the habitats of tigers and orangutans. The country's minister for primary industries is off to Europe this month to attempt some damage control on the issue. As new plantations encroach on the habitat of tigers and orangutans, plantation workers are increasingly coming into conflict with these creatures - and it is the animals that are losing that conflict.
