SERIAN: Six Ibans from Semada not far from Serain have been detained by Police for allegedly destroying about 2,000 oil palm trees planted in their NCR land. They used chainsaws to fell the palm trees which were planted in their land by a company without their permission.
They also allegedly burnt the quarters where the company workers were staying.
Following a report lodged by the company, the Ibans were picked up and detained by the Police. The company was reported to be losing several thousands of ringgit as a result of the actions taken by the Ibans.
Latest news is that the six Ibans have been released. So far the Police have not charged them.
